Hollywood legend Michael Douglas has stared in numerous films. He is an advocate of nuclear disarmament, a supporter of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation and sits on the Board of Directors of the Ploughshares Fund. He was also appointed UN Messenger of Peace in 1998.
Sir Bob Geldof, Rock Star & Activist
In 1984, Geldof initiated the Band-Aid project, a charity for the victims of famine in Africa. In 1985 he organised the Live Aid concert and Sports Aid in 1986, and established the Band-Aid Trust. Band-Aid continues to operate in eight African countries.
